Some listing sites collect and remit taxes on your behalf. You need to educate yourself on the different sites and how they handle taxes. Make sure to ask about the Walton County taxes as well as Florida State taxes.
Ensure you have a way to collect, report, and remit both Walton County and Florida State taxes if you have a direct booking website.
You will remit your Walton County taxes directly to the County.
The state of Florida requires you to pay Sales and Use Tax. You should have a separate Sales and Use Tax Certificate number for the different counties in which you operate/own a STR.
